Science city design proposal for an international competition, located at the western edge of Cairo, in the heart of the 6th of October City.
The learning experience can happen anywhere, not a must to be in the lecture hall or lab or studio. Social contact between a researcher and his peers is a very effective mean for learning. Social spaces created between the main research and exhibition spaces improve informal learning happening within spaces. This includes closed and opened spaces in different forms as café, courtyards, plazas, food service areas and others.
The Science city consists of group of buildings and internally of various types of spaces (atriums, courtyards, social spaces), each has its own learning function. Providing a variety of learning experiences, various outdoor spaces were created including Dense forested park, Pocket parks, Children science park, Hardscape plaza, Water canal, Entrance park and Exhibition park.
